AIMS:

 To enable children to be effective communicators

 To develop confidence and competence in Speaking and Listening, Reading and Writing in order that children may access the full range of opportunities offered by society

 To provide a stimulating environment in which children can experience a range of language forms.

 To develop an appreciation of language activities as an enjoyable use of leisure time.

 NATURE:

  Language is learned most easily when it is whole - the focus of our program is on functional and meaningful activities. A balance of formal and informal learning situations will be provided to address all aspects: Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening, to foster and enhance the children’s command of the English language.

The sound of a butterfly fluttering by

Pink is a rose

And Valentines Day

A pink lady apple ripe today

 

Pink is the smell of new perfume

Laughing and happiness out of the gloom

The pink clouds of a sunset

And pink rosy cheeks

The pink smudge of lip stick left on your cheek

 

The sweet smell of tulips

Pink coral in a reef

A cute rabbit’s nose twitching in beat

A new born girl

A pink polka dot dress

And sunburn that hurts whenever you press

 

YELLOW

Yellow is the sound of a chirpy canary

A big ripe lemon on a lovely tree

And the beautiful wattle plant

Yellow means happy

And the suns burning rays

Yellow is the giraffe in the zoo

 

Yellow is pollen

Yellow is bees

Yellow the bananas that grow on trees

Yellow is tropical

And exotic too

 

 

Islands are yellow

So is the sand

Yellow is holidays to far off lands

Yellow is a pineapple

Yellow is light

Yellow is a color that’s very bright

 

BLACK

Black is the color of all consuming darkness

Black is the color of woeful mourning

Black is the color of falling night

Black is the color of ashes and endings

 

Black is the color of terrible tragedy

Black is the color of rot and decay

Black is the color of the deepest sadness

Black is the color of plagues spreading like wild fire

Black is the color of plague ridden rats

 

Black is the color of winter’s deathly chill

Black is the color of cunning thieves

Black is the color of murderous raves

Black is the color of cruel tyranny

Black is the color of ultimate ruin

Black is the color of utmost chaos

 

BLUE

And the tasteless color of water running down your dry throat

Blue is the color of a new beginning

Blue is the color of depression

And discovery

Blue is vast oceans

 

Blue is the color of victory

Blue is the sky

And a peaceful stream

Blue represents knowledge and intelligence

Blue is loyalty

 

 

Blue is the color of friendship

Blue are the blueberries choking a fence

Blue is the icy chill blowing over your skin

Blue is the color of refreshment and hydration

Blue is the sound of a dead fire
